Transformer Core Clamps
Precision clamps for laminated transformer cores.
- Parts
- Top and bottom core clamps · clamp plates · end frames
- Material
- Structural steel; non-magnetic stainless where specified
- Inspection
- Flatness, squareness and hole-position checks to drawing
- Earthing
- Provision for single-point core and frame earthing
Overview
Core clamps keep laminated cores rigid in service. They are made to tight flatness and hole-position tolerances so the core assembles correctly and stays quiet in operation.
Our capabilities
- 01Top and bottom core clamps
- 02Tight flatness control
- 03Drilled and slotted to drawing
- 04Coated or plain finish

FAQs
What is the difference between yoke clamps and core clamps?
Yoke clamps grip the top and bottom yokes of the laminated core, while the wider term core clamps covers the full clamping frame, including flitch plates and tie bars that hold the core legs and transfer clamping pressure to the windings.
Are clamps insulated from the core?
Yes, where the design calls for it. Clamps are insulated from the core laminations and earthed at a single point, and insulation resistance is tested before dispatch.
Who manufactures the parts?
Parts are manufactured within the Ferrokshar Group, in production since 1997. Engineering, project management and on-site support are handled by our team in Toronto, ON.
Who do I deal with?
Our engineering team is your single point of contact, from quote to delivery and after-sales service.
